The Ship-Museum Battleship “Georgios Averof” stands for the last 25 years as an active center of education with daily visits from schools, foundations and private citizens. This way, the vision of the National benefactor Georgios Averof – to combine both educational and defence purposes in ship’s serving to the nation – is achieved. In this spirit, using the modern technology, a new interactive multimedia application addressed to students as well as adults is being created and will be soon available, on board our museum. It is a pioneering attempt, following the modern psycho-pedagogical and educational trends, with emphasis to retaining the living memory and the historical significance of the Battleship, while enhancing the hellenic naval heritage.
